KEVIN DEAN MAHAN
KEVIN DEAN MAHAN obit

Kevin Dean Mahan passed March 21, 2024, at the age of 65, suddenly, in his home located in Oakdale, California. He had lived in the Oakdale area since the early 1990’s and was proud to be a small, but beloved part of this tight community. Kevin was born in Fortuna, California to Indianna McCord and Larry Mahan, also passed. He is survived by his son, Chase Mahan, daughter Sierra Hunter, and twin sister Kim Montez.

Known lovingly as “Uncle Kev”, he had a large tribe of nieces, nephews, and close friends he considered family. Before retiring a few years prior to his passing, Kevin was a skilled traveling meat clerk or butcher at local grocery stores throughout the Central Valley. There was nothing he enjoyed more than chasing pheasant tails, taut fishing lines, and camping at Kennedy Meadows Resort in the Sierra Nevada Mountains. All those who knew him will remember and lament the absence of his unique kindness, loyal friendship, silly nicknames, and willingness to always lend a hand to those in need. His dear friend, Mark “Roper” McLean, has organized a Celebration of Life at H-Bar-B for close friends and family on May 11 at 11 a.m.
