John Terrence Krieger passed away at home on February 8, 2017 at the age of 72 after a long illness. He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Fran Krieger of Oakdale, son Eric (Suyoung) Parker of An-San, South Korea, daughter Nancy Parker of Oakdale. Granddaughters: Alexandria (Elliott) Fidalgo and Alexis Tidball, Grandson: Christian Domingo U.S. Army. Great grandson: Jakson Fidalgo all of Oakdale. Sister: Joan (Dan) Bambaugh of Shrewsbury, PA. Sisters-in-law, Billie (Gene) Benedix, Toni (Cecil) Lopez, Denise (Preston) Boyd, Brother-in-law Frank (Yuki) Vierra and numerous nieces and nephews. His constant companion for 11 years Max, his dog, misses him greatly. John was born and raised in Porterville, CA. He graduated from Porterville High School and attended Fresno State University. During his fourth year of college, he enlisted in the United States Navy to serve his country. After completing his tour of duty in Vietnam aboard the USS Ticonderoga, he returned to Fresno State and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree. John put himself through college working at the Porterville State Hospital and later as a garage mechanic working on foreign cars. Thus, began his love of automobiles. He began his banking career in 1972 and continued that line of work for the next 40 years. He will be remembered as an excellent banker. He enjoyed the days when a simple handshake was all it took to secure a loan. John was a member of The Ceres Rotary Club for many years. John was an active member of St Mary’s Catholic Church until his health would no longer allow him to attend. John was an expert marksman and enjoyed shooting with his brother-in-law and best friend Frank Vierra as members of the Single Action Shooting Society (SASS). John loved all holidays surrounded by his family. He always enjoyed a good cigar and a cup of coffee. Special thanks to his caregivers: Anna Mae Tilma, Paula Wood, and Susan Gonzales. Funeral services will be held on Thursday February 16, 2017 at 10 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 1225 Olive St., Oakdale, CA 95361 (corner of Oak and Olive) with a luncheon immediately following. Interment will take place at 2 p.m. at Burwood Cemetery in Escalon.
