Cleadys ‘Joann’ Rutherford, 74, died Sunday, Jan. 2 after a long battle with brain cancer.

She was born in Hot Springs, Arkansas. She lived in Oakdale for 43 years.

She was retired from Hunts cannery.

She is survived by her husband, Karl Rutherford, Sr. of Oakdale; children, Carol (Joel) Puckett, Cathy Rutherford, Karl Rutherford, Jr., Cynthia (Joe) Navarro, all of Oakdale, Karen (Darrell) Bender of Pleasanton; siblings, Raymond Cox of Oakdale, Mary Laraby of Roseville, Danny Cox of Tulare; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Louie and Gladys Cox; sisters, Helen Martinez, Jeanie Looney, Diana Brannon; and brother Ellsworth Cox.

A service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 7 at Oakdale Memorial Chapel. Interment will be at Oakdale Citizens Cemetery.
