Ben Cassinetto of Knights Ferry, California passed away in his home in the early morning hours of September 25, 2023. He was born to Ben Pete Cassinetto and Mary June Cassinetto on November 20, 1942 in Sonora CA. As a young man Ben worked summers in the Sierra Nevada Mountains for his uncle Reno Sardella at his pack station and riding stables. He attended school in Sonora, graduating from Sonora High School in 1961. After graduation he began his career in the construction industry working for Joe Poole Construction. He would eventually start and run Cassinetto Construction for the entirety of his career. In 1985 Cassinetto Construction teamed up with L.C. Ferrari Construction to complete many public works projects in the Sierra Nevada Mountains. This association lasted many years.
In 1966 Ben married Linda Mangante whom he had three children with. They were married until her death in 1987. Several years later Ben married Linda Gardella and they moved to Knights Ferry and resided there until her death in 2011. In his later years Ben enjoyed entertaining and visiting with his friends. He stayed busy by making wine and working on small construction projects around his properties.
He is survived by his sister Mary Jane Cassinetto, his three children Ed (Denise), Sheryl, Tom, two grandchildren Eden and Ben, and nephew Paul (Aileen) Cassinetto. Ben also leaves behind stepchildren Monica, Stephen, and Beth. A graveside service will be held on October 11, 2023, at 11 a.m. in Knights Ferry with a reception following at the River’s Edge Restaurant.
