ALEXANDER RAVETZ
bk Alex Ravetz

Alex Ravetz of Chico, California, died unexpectedly in his home Sunday evening of a sudden cardiac event. Alex spent both his final and formative years in Chico while Oakdale was his home during his teen years and young adulthood. He attended Oakdale High School and excelled in woodworking and golf. Following high school he attended the Golf Academy of America in San Diego. For the past three years Alex had been a custom woodworker. In his spare time, he had also been remodeling the house he grew up in for his new family.
Alex was a larger than life personality, loving brother, gentle son, and loyal friend. He was known for his charm, warmth, and exceptional bear hugs. Alex was immensely devoted to his faith, his beautiful daughter Ava, and to Caty, the love of his life. In honor of Alex, we have held a viewing at Newton-Bracewell Funeral Home in Chico Sunday, August 2nd, from 5 to 7 p.m. His funeral was held the following day, Monday August 3rd at the Oroville Church of the Nazarene at 11 a.m. with a reception following. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Heart Association.
Alex is survived by his mother and father, Kristin and David Gilbert, his younger siblings Holly, Robert and Inga, his father and stepmother Richard and Angela Ravetz, and younger sister Ariel, and the loves of his life Caty and daughter Ava. Please share thoughts and memories of Alex online at nbfch.com.
