Oakdale Police on Wednesday reported the arrest of a 33-year-old Oakdale man who encouraged a physical fight between two children that was caught on video.

Authorities said a community member came forward to share the video with the Chief of Police after the video was circulated in the community.

The video depicts two young boys in a physical fight with an adult male in the background, encouraging the violent beating. The adult male was identified by police as Joshua Troxell, an Oakdale Stampede youth football team coach.

“I’m extremely disturbed and disappointed by the video,” said Chief of Police Jerry Ramar.

The chief also stated, “This incident does not represent the community of Oakdale.”

One of the juveniles involved in the fight sustained minor injuries only.

Oakdale PD officers contacted Troxell after viewing the video. He agreed to turn himself in at the Oakdale Police Department and was arrested on child endangerment charges.
