Excitement in the Cowboy Capital! Be sure to mark your calendar for the “All American Concert Bash” on Saturday, June 25. The day will begin with a hometown Parade; everyone is encouraged to create a parade entry and join the exciting red, white and blue parade in downtown Oakdale. The parade will start at 10 am and will begin near Walgreens; it will follow the same route as the rodeo parade. Later in the afternoon, 5 pm to be exact, “The All American Concert Bash” tribute concerts will begin at the rodeo grounds. An evening of amazing music will fill the air! You will not want to miss these amazing concert tributes. Immediately following the concerts the night sky will light up with a spectacular fireworks show. I can tell you, this will absolutely be one of the most beautiful fireworks shows you will ever see, it truly is spectacular ... the glittering and glistening bursts of bright colors will leave you in complete awe. Yes, it truly is going to be that amazing! Gates open at 4:30 pm at the rodeo grounds. We offer a huge “Thank You” to the Oakdale Enrichment Society for once again bringing such an amazing event to our area. Hope to see you there!

In today’s column I would like to say “Thank You” to those of you that take the time to give me a call now and then. I always enjoy your calls! Last week I was very pleasantly surprised to receive a call from a gentleman who I have much respect and admiration for. He and his wife are very hard working, his mother is an amazing woman ... the roots of his entire family have created a strong foundation and will long be respected in our area. JB, because you took the time from your busy day to make a call, I once again visited Valley Home Baptist Church this past Sunday; I look forward to going again next Sunday! It was actually pretty amazing ... it was not quite an hour after your call I received a call from the current Pastor of our Valley Home Baptist Church; the Lord sure works in mysterious ways!

Pastor Tim Hoover had exciting news for our Valley Home community. Everyone is invited to come out and enjoy a Family Fun Day on July 16 at the church! Food, fun, crafts, and more will greet you ... we all are welcome to come enjoy the day together. Family Fun Day will start at 10 am and go until 1pm. Valley Home Baptist Church is located near the intersection of Pioneer and Valley Home roads. Hope to see you there!

Please remember this important date: Thursday, June 9, Fire Board Meeting at the Valley Home Fire Station, 10 am, all welcome.
