Two Suspects Arrested In Deadly Stabbing

On Thursday, Sept. 9, Oakdale Police officers captured two suspects wanted in a deadly stabbing that occurred over the weekend. Scott Warren Staudenmaier, 50, of Modesto and 23-year-old Lindsey Bench of Oakdale were taken into custody in the 1400 block of East F Street.

The victim has been identified as 21-year-old Nathaniel Holland from Modesto. On Saturday, Sept. 4, just after 8 p.m., Oakdale officers were dispatched to South Yosemite Avenue and East G Street where they located Holland suffering from a stab wound. The victim was transported to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.

Staudenmaier was booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center charged with murder. Bench was booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center charged with accessory to murder. The relationship between the victim and the suspects is under investigation, as is the motive for the attack.

Oakdale Police received assistance from the Stanislaus County District Attorney’s Office in making the arrest.
