Oakdale-Riverbank Fire Calls 10-22-25

The following is a listing of some of the local calls for service involving the Modesto Fire Department, which staffs Stations 27, 28, 29 and 30 in Oakdale, Knights Ferry and Valley Home as part of Battalion 5; and the Stanislaus Consolidated Fire Department, covering the Riverbank area, as part of Battalion 2. Note: Shifts are in 24-hour time periods, from 5 a.m. to 5 a.m.

Calls were logged during the time period of Tuesday, Oct. 14 through Monday, Oct. 20. Days not listed had no reports of significant incidents in this area.

 

MONDAY, OCT. 20

Chief Wise attended the Fresno Symposium planning session for the California Training Officers. Save the date for the 2026 Fresno Training Symposium March 16-20, 2026.

Battalion 2: 7:57 a.m. – Engine 26 responded to Incline Way in Riverbank for a pregnant female with difficulty breathing. When they arrived, the patient had just delivered. They were both provided ALS care and transported for further evaluation.

Battalion 5: Crews worked on Monday apparatus and equipment checks.

Crews completed Target Solutions online and City of Modesto online mandated training.

 

SUNDAY, OCT. 19

All five MST Battalions and Medic 1 trained on commercial fire attack at Station 22.

Battalion 2: Crews completed their daily apparatus and equipment checks.

Personnel completed mandatory online training.

Battalion 5: Crews performed company level training in their respective FMA’s, completed mandated Target Solution assignments, conducted apparatus checks and station maintenance.

Engine 27 conducted training focusing on water supply, engine monitor operations and ladders.

 

SATURDAY, OCT. 18

MST Companies from all five Battalions rotated through criminal MCI training with Ceres PD. The focus was on a unified response to an active shooter incident.

Battalion 2: Crews completed their daily apparatus and equipment checks.

Engine 26 attended the Love Riverbank Safety Boo Bash. Engine 26, along with the Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Office, CHP, and Oak Valley Ambulance, participated in the Trunk or Treat event.

10:14 a.m. – Engine 26 was dispatched to the 5300 block of Claus Road for an unknown fire. Engine 26 arrived on scene of a large commercial building with smoke coming from it. They upgraded the response to a working structure fire. Crews located the fire inside one of the warehouses; it was confined to a large commercial oven. MST personnel extinguished the fire before it could spread to the rest of the structure.

Battalion 5: Crews performed company level training in their respective FMA’s and completed mandated Target Solution assignments.

Apparatus checks and Saturday station maintenance were conducted.

Engine 28 and Engine 29 attended the Spoketoberfest bike racing event being held by the Rotary Club, with the ride originating at Oakdale Bike Shop.

 

FRIDAY, OCT. 17

Battalion 2: Crews completed their daily apparatus and equipment checks.

Personnel completed mandated online training.

Battalion 5: Crews completed daily apparatus and equipment checks.

Firefighters completed mandated Target Solutions assignments.

Engine 27 and Battalion 5 celebrated Firefighter John Rohrabaugh’s birthday.

8:43 a.m. – Engine 23, Engine 26, Engine 27 and Battalion 5 responded to Highway 108 and Lancaster Road for a vehicle accident. First arriving companies found one vehicle over the side of the roadway down an embankment. Firefighters and OVHD Medics treated and packaged one patient with major injuries. That patient was transported to a local hospital for further treatment.

 

THURSDAY, OCT. 16

Battalion 2: Exterior station maintenance occurred across the battalion focusing on preparations for winter.

Battalion 5: Crews completed daily apparatus and equipment checks.

Firefighters completed mandated Target Solutions assignments.

Battalion 5 companies had their annual ladder testing.

Firefighter Shane Stoller from Engine 29 received the EMS Challenge Coin for his role in the successful rescue from the Stanislaus River and subsequent resuscitation of a drowning patient.

 

WEDNESDAY, OCT. 15

Battalion 2: Crews completed weekly checks on Water Tenders and Water Rescues.

Firefighters trained with air bags and completed sign offs for its newest members.

Battalion 5: Crews completed daily apparatus and equipment checks.

Firefighters completed mandated Target Solutions assignments.

Weekly apparatus and station maintenance was completed at Station 30 in Valley Home.

8:57 a.m. – Engine 27, Engine 28, and BC5 to State Highway 4 and Milton Road for a vehicle accident. First arriving firefighters found two vehicles involved, a power pole sheared off and live wires down. Firefighters treated one patient for minor injuries and secured the area until PG&E arrived. Caltrans was also contacted as multiple road signs and lights were damaged.

 

TUESDAY, OCT. 14

Battalion 2: 6:48 a.m. – Engine 7, Engine 26 and BC1 responded to a reported vehicle accident on Claribel Road. Engine 7 arrived to find a single patient with minor injuries. The balance was canceled, and CHP is investigating.

7:24 a.m. – Engine 23, Quint 22, and BC2 responded to a vehicle accident at Albers Road and Dusty Lane. An adult and pediatric patient were transported to a local hospital.

Battalion 5: The crew from Modesto Engine 29 was recognized by the City of Modesto Council for their actions taken to save a life. While returning to their Station the crew noticed what appeared to be a person in distress in the water of a canal. The crew removed the person from the water and began life saving efforts CPR with ALS care. The crew obtained ROSC and the patient was transported to the hospital where the patient made a full recovery.
