KEEP ON ROLLIN’
Pumpkin1

It was Pumpkin Roll time in Knights Ferry on Sunday, Nov. 6 – for the 59th time in the hamlet’s history. The Sunday after Halloween sees people pack the tiny community, rolling the gourds for a chance at a trophy and bragging rights for a year. Among the scenes captured, contestants of all ages gathered on Main Street for the competition; pumpkins are provided and the goal is to get it closest to the finish line without going off the course. Also, a crew is on hand as measurements are taken to make sure the results are accurate. Winners are typically all smiles after presentation of the trophies, and young champion Lilli Burtschi was one of those winners, as she took this year's title in the birth to five-year-old girls group.
