Representative Josh Harder (CA-10) on Monday, April 26 announced that more than $1.3 million in federal money is heading to the Central Valley for its Head Start programs. Central California Migrant Head Start will receive $799,675 and Stanislaus County will receive $533,618. The funds will be distributed by the Department of Health & Human Services (HHS) and will go directly to funding both the Stanislaus and Migrant Head Start programs in the Valley.

“Every dollar we can get to our Valley kids is a dollar worth spending,” said Rep. Harder. “I’m so glad we were able to secure more funds for our critical Head Start programs in the Central Valley. If we’re going to rebuild from this pandemic, we’ve got to make sure our kids are on track.”

Earlier this year, Rep. Harder announced a grant of more than $32 million for the Migrant Head Start program which serves more than 700 students in the area.
