Constitution Day Observance, Speaker At MJC

The Modesto Junior College Civic Engagement Project will present a Constitution Day Observance featuring Stephen R. Routh, speaking on “The Congress, the President, and the Power to Make War” today, Tuesday, Sept.17 at 7p.m. in Forum 102 on East Campus, 435 College Ave. The event is open to the public and admission is free. Campus parking is available for $1 in student parking lots.

Routh is the chair of the Department of Political Science and Public Administration at California State University, Stanislaus, where he has taught for 11 years about constitutional law, civil liberties, administrative law, judicial process, Congress, the Presidency, and elections.

In addition, he is currently serving as the Interim associate dean of Humanities and Social Sciences at CSUS, and is a visiting professor of Political Science at the University of California, Davis.

Routh holds a Ph.D. in Political Science from UC Davis, with specializations in public law and American national institutions such as the Supreme Court, Congress and the Presidency.
