Heroin Confiscated During Afternoon Traffic Stop
Brian Bockert

A traffic stop for a violation resulted in the arrest of a man on Friday afternoon after police found a package of heroin in his possession.

According to Oakdale Police, on Friday, Aug. 4, around 1:30 p.m., officers stopped a red Ford Taurus for an observed vehicle registration violation in the 100 block of California Avenue, near the post office.

The driver of the vehicle, identified as Brian Bockert, 40, was found to be on probation from Tuolumne County for prior sales of narcotics. Bockert was searched per the terms of his probation and found to be in possession of approximately 10 grams of black tar heroin in a package. Evidence found in the vehicle appeared to indicate that Bockert may have been preparing to ship the narcotics to another person through the mail.

Bockert was arrested and booked into the Stanislaus County Jail for Narcotics Sales and Distribution and a Probation Violation. His bail was set at $100,000.
