Michael was born on July 11, 1961, at Camp Pendleton in Oceanside, California, and passed away on January 20, 2023, in Hughson, California.

Michael is survived by his wife Angela Espinosa, children Carmenne Corbiser and Shane Espinosa, father George Espinosa, and siblings Kathy Newton, Tom Espinosa, Christina Espinosa and Chris Espinosa. Michael was preceded in death by his mother Joyce Cunningham, and sister Theresa Espinosa.

Michael grew up in San Francisco, attending St. Paul’s Catholic School and Serramonte High School. Michael was involved in band as a drummer.

After high school, Michael joined the United States Coast Guard, proudly serving from 1980-1990, serving in Hawaii, Alaska, Ft. Bragg and Rio Vista, and also played with the USCG Band.

After the USCG, Michael settled in Oakdale, California. While in Oakdale, he had been an officer/member of the Oakdale Lion’s Club, and a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church.

Michael’s favorite pastimes were playing his drums, attending concerts, San Francisco Giants games and camping on the coast. Most of all, though, he enjoyed spending time with his family.  Michael also enjoyed traveling/attending vintage trailer rallies in his vintage trailer, including many cross-country trips.

A Celebration of Life Luncheon will be held on Saturday, March 18, noon, at the Social Hall in Knights Ferry, California. All are welcome, and encouraged to wear their favorite band/concert tee in honor of Michael’s love for music.
