Visitor Center moving into Chamber building

Visit Oakdale, the destination marketing organization for the City of Oakdale, has announced the relocation of its Oakdale Visitor Center to a more central and accessible site in the heart of Oakdale.

And they will just happen to share space with another all-Oakdale organization.

Beginning Wednesday, Feb. 7, 2024, residents and visitors can find the Oakdale Visitor Center in the Oakdale Chamber of Commerce building at 590 N. Yosemite Ave., the Center moving from its previous spot at the River Road Plaza, corner of Highway 120 and River Road.

“We’re thrilled about bringing our operations into the city limits and creating a welcoming space for both visitors and locals to discover our community and all it has to offer,” said Austin Romito, President of Visit Oakdale. “The Chamber building is the perfect spot for us, we’re excited to reconnect with the roots of where Visit Oakdale began. Positioned centrally in the city, and with the iconic AL Gilbert factory as a symbol of our agricultural heritage in the background, there’s no place we’d rather be.”

As the dedicated destination marketing organization for Oakdale, Romito noted that Visit Oakdale plays a crucial role in advertising all that the Cowboy Capital has to offer to travelers around the world. The Oakdale Visitor Center, operated by Visit Oakdale, is the go-to hub for local travel information and also includes a gift shop featuring authentic Oakdale souvenirs. Through partnerships with local businesses and community organizations, Visit Oakdale strives to promote the city as a premier destination for tourism and leisure.

“The collaboration of these two entities in the Chamber building heralds a new era of joint endeavors, fueling creativity, cooperation, and the pursuit of shared goals for our residents and travelers worldwide,” said Cher Bairos, CEO of the Oakdale Chamber of Commerce.

Hours of operation are still to be determined, added Romito, but more information is available by calling 209-844-5160, or visiting online: hello@visitoakdale.com

“Visitors to the new Oakdale Visitor Center can expect the same friendly and knowledgeable staff ready to assist with information about local attractions, events, dining options, and more,” Romito said. “The small gift shop will feature a delightful selection of Oakdale souvenirs, allowing visitors to take a piece of the Cowboy Capital home with them.”
