Women’s Club Fundraising Auction, Bake Sale Slated
bakesale

The Oakdale Women’s Club (OWC) has a long philanthropic history of supporting local community causes. At their next luncheon meeting, which begins at noon on Tuesday, Dec. 3 at the Oakdale Golf and Country Club, 243 N. Stearns Road in Oakdale, the group will be continuing those efforts by holding a fundraising Silent Auction and Bake Sale.

Proceeds generated from the OWC’s Silent Auction and Bake Sale will go into their General Fund to support a Science Camp for Oakdale High School girls. All of the articles included in the auction have been generously donated by area businesses, as well as by many members of the Women’s Club. These items are, but not limited to, a case of wine, special household items, jewelry, and Gift Certificates.

Also at this event, in the spirit of honoring those who have served this nation in the military, OWC members have been asked to bring to the December meeting a gift bag containing personal necessities for the men and women veterans who are currently living at the Veteran’s Hospital in Livermore. And in keeping with their long tradition of generosity, the Club will also be making a donation of money to the Veteran’s Cemetery in Santa Nella, to be used for the purchase of wreaths to be placed on the headstones of those buried there.

All who are interested are invited to attend the buffet-style luncheon, cost of which is $16. For more information about the fundraiser and/or reservations, call Karen at 848-2231.
