Shelter Pets In Need Of Forever Homes

Tracker, an adorable three-month-old kitten who loves to be held, is looking for a loving new home. Oakdale Animal Shelter volunteers will be at Riverbank Petco with shelter pets available for adoption on Saturday, Aug. 3, from 10 a.m. until 1:30 p.m.

Oakdale Shelter Pet Alliance (OSPA) volunteers will be at the Petco in the Crossroads Shopping Center in Riverbank on Saturday, Aug. 3 from 10 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. with pets available for adoption. Riverbank and Oakdale communities can pick up a spay/neuter vouchers during this time at Petco. Kitten season is in full effect and although the Oakdale Animal Shelter has had good fortune with many adoptions these past few months they currently have several kittens in need of forever homes. The OSPA is sponsoring $25 adoption specials on all cats and kittens including spay/neuter, microchip and vaccinations. The Oakdale Animal Shelter provides services for both Riverbank and Oakdale. Can’t afford to fix your pet? Want to prevent unplanned litters of kittens and puppies? Oakdale Shelter Pet Alliance offers spay/neuter vouchers for cats and dogs to pet owners residing in the 95367 or 95361 zip code areas. Vouchers are valid for spay/neuter services at ACT Spay Neuter Clinic in Stockton. Free shuttle service for pets is available from Oakdale and Riverbank. To obtain cat vouchers, bring proof of residency within the 95367 or 95361 zip code area. Cat voucher prices for those who qualify as low income (must provide EBT card, permanent Medi-Cal card, or PG&E Cares Program proof) are $20 in cash for each tame cat and for feral cats in traps, $10 each. Cat voucher prices for non-low income residents are $30 for tame cats and $20 for feral cats. For dog vouchers, you must bring proof of zip code residency, and proof of low income (EBT card, permanent Medi-Cal card, or PG&E Cares Program proof). Dog vouchers are $40 each, cash only. Vouchers for Chihuahuas, Chihuahua mixes, pit bulls, or pit bull mixes do not require low income qualification. Limit three vouchers per address. You do not need to bring your pet with you to apply for a voucher. Some restrictions apply.
