Oakdale Mayor Pat Paul is seeking an interested Oakdale resident to serve on the Stanislaus Council of Governments (StanCOG) Citizens Advisory Committee. The committee is made up of 15 members from all the cities and unincorporated areas of Stanislaus County. Currently there is no representative from Oakdale.

The purpose of the Citizens Advisory Committee is to advise the Stanislaus Council of Governments policy board by providing comments and recommendations on agenda items relating to transportation-related topics.

“The CAC is a vital part of our proactive public involvement process,” said COG Executive Director Vince Harris.

Issues ranging from future and existing roadways and improvement projects, public transit, bicycle and pedestrian concerns, and air quality matters are common agenda issues. Funding priority issues are also typically discussed.

The committee meets on the first Wednesday of every month at 6 p.m. at the StanCOG office at 1111 I St., Modesto. Interested persons can contact Mayor Paul at (209) 845-3571 or email her at ppaul@ci.oakdale.ca.us.
