June Programs Slated At Oakdale Library

Story Time Sessions will continue through June.

Wiggle Worms every Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. Enjoy stories, music, dancing, rhythm activities, and fingerplay at this special program perfect for ages 0 to 3 and their caregivers. (25-30 minutes.)

Preschool Story Time is every Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. Books, flannelboard stories, fingerplay, and music for preschoolers, ages 3-6, and caregivers. (30 min.)

Children’s Craft on Thursday, June 2 at 3:30 p.m. will be a cute little Hedgehog, made from the folded pages of a recycled book.

Teens and Adults will be working on interesting, and sometimes intricate, braided Lanyards. There will be a beautiful assortment of materials, colors, and even beads, to work with. This is geared to beginners but your own imagination can be the guide, with the program on Wednesday, June 8 at 3:30 p.m.

The library will host two Lego Days this month, Thursdays, June 9 and June 23. Both will begin at 3:30 p.m.

Kids can unleash their awesome creativity and the masterpieces will be displayed in the Library.

Wee Move And Play program, featuring unstructured imaginative play for little ones, 5 and under, will be Monday, June 13, at 11 a.m.

The Summer Reading Challenge for all ages is in full swing. Read books you love, join in for fun activities and programs, and enter for prizes throughout the summer.

Ventriloquist Randel McGee and his dragon, Groark, will be at the library for two happy and fun-filled programs on Tuesday, June 14, at 3 p.m. and 4 p.m. All are welcome, admission is free.

Also, related to the library’s “Read for the Win” Summer Reading Challenge, they will be hosting an exciting ‘Minute To Win It’ Event. Join in for an hour of competition and fun. Complete challenge activities in less than a minute for a chance at a cool prize. The timer will begin ticking Thursday, June 16, at 3:30 p.m.

Computer Basics 1 class is set for Tuesday, June 21 and a Computer Basics 2 class on Tuesday, June 28. Classes begin at 10:30 a.m. Call the Library for info and be sure to reserve your space; each session is limited to four people. Call 847-4204.

The Library Book Club will be reading “The Jane Austen Book Club” and meeting to discuss and share on Tuesday, June 28, at 11:30 a.m. Sign out your copy at the Library. New members welcome.

The Friends of the Oakdale Library are the main sponsors of many of the programs and prizes. They will hold their monthly meeting on Monday, June 27 at 1:30 p.m. You can sign up to join the Friends. Forms and info are available at the Oakdale Library.
