Oakdale High School alums, brothers Colton and Caden Farquer, are finding post high school rodeo success. The two have been competing in the college rodeo circuit and both have been highly successful, including some standout recent action.

Colton, who is a senior at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, is making the most of his final year. He is a two-time winner of the Poly Royal Rodeo as he won it in 2015 and this year was the 2017 tie-down roping champion. Colton took first place in the 77th Annual Poly Royal Rodeo on April 8 where he presented his buckle to his mother on her birthday as a gift. Earlier this year Colton won at the La Grange CCPRA Rodeo and will be competing at the National Intercollegiate Rodeo Association Western Regional Finals in Las Vegas beginning May 5. If Colton qualifies at Las Vegas, he will make his fourth straight College National Finals in Casper, Wyoming later this year.

Caden, who graduated from Oakdale High School in 2015, competed in the Poly Royal Rodeo as well. Caden competed in the championship round on April 8 after battling his way to top 10 status in each of the events to qualify for a chance at the title.
