Kinney Set To Speak

Teresa Kinney, a candidate for the Oakdale City Council, will be speaking at Mountain Mike’s in Oakdale on Tuesday, Oct. 16 starting at 7 p.m. All interested are encouraged to come and meet the candidate; Mountain Mike’s Pizza is at 111 S. Maag Ave., Oakdale.

 

Garden Club

The Oakdale Garden Club recently announced a Plant Sale to be held on Tuesday Oct. 16 at the Bianchi Community Center, 110 S. Second Ave., Oakdale beginning at 10 a.m. The non-profit organization has long been committed to the beautification of the community with their many floral projects, including maintaining the colorful plantings in the streetside planters in Oakdale’s Business District. The sale will include a variety of reasonably-priced plants provided by the group’s members, and all proceeds will go into their General Fund for the Club’s future projects.

 

Connection Luncheon

Oakdale Women’s Connection will host its monthly luncheon on Thursday, Oct. 11 from noon to 1:30 p.m. The monthly meeting is hosted at Papapolloni Mediterranean Bistro, 1214 W. F St., Oakdale. Buffet lunch is $18. Guest speaker Mary Jane Battista. Reservations can be made with Barbara at (209) 847-5605.

 

Art Society Show

The Oak Valley Art Society will be holding its Annual Fall Art Show on Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 20 and 21 at the Escalon Library, 1540 Second St., Escalon. Show hours are Saturday noon to 5 p.m.; Sunday show hours are from noon to 2 p.m., followed by a reception with the artists from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m.

 

Lutefisk Dinner

The Sons of Norway Annual Lutefisk Dinner and Fundraiser is scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 20. Doors open at 3 p.m. and dinner is served at 3:30 p.m. The event will be offered at the Modesto Senior Center, 211 Bodem St., at Scenic Drive in Modesto.
