Independent candidate Chad Condit visited Oakdale Wednesday, May 30 for a meet-and-greet event at Cafe Bravo in the hopes of reaching out to voters before the upcoming Tuesday, June 5 primary election.

Condit, an admitted underdog in the race for the California 10th congressional district against incumbent Jeff Denham, is championing causes close to the heart of Central Valley, such as agriculture and jobs, equality for the Central Valley, and the housing crisis. Other issues include social security, Medicare and tax reform.

On his campaign materials, he was quoted as saying, "We all know that something is wrong with American politics. As a native of Ceres, I know that the Central Valley has the Independent spirit we need to solve our problems. I can, and would be proud to represent that spirit in Washington, D.C. America needs Independent voices that are not beholden to either political party. Together we can make a difference."
