Preseason has kept both the boys and girls Oakdale High School soccer teams busy so far.
The girls traveled to Riverbank in their lone contest of the week on Thursday evening, Dec. 7. Oakdale took down the Lady Bruins 9-0. Oakdale’s varsity girls had contributions from all over the field. Brianna Montoya scored three goals to help lead the charge. Oakdale continued their road preseason with a game at Beyer High School on Tuesday, Dec. 12 following The Leader’s press time. The girls wrap up preseason action with two more road games; Friday, Dec. 15 at Venture Academy and Tuesday, Dec. 19 at Sonora. “We were spent from a long tournament, that we played in Turlock just days before the game,” said head Coach Alfredo Quiroga. “We just did not have the energy to keep up with them.”
