In a Valley Oak League season where stiff competition has held Oakdale High’s varsity girls basketball team out of the win column, nothing is more important than the steady improvement of committed players.
Lanky junior Kylie Gust showcased some of that improvement during a 53-33 loss to playoff bound Kimball on Jan. 27. Gust gouged the Kimball defense for 15 points and was a constant hindrance at the hoop.
She earns Athlete of the Week honor from The Leader for her terrific effort in front of Lady Mustang fans.
