OVYSA, Thank You!

Dear Editor,

I feel the need to extend out a few “Thank You’s.” Last weekend (March 26) we were supposed to do a Concession Booth at Bark for Life. Due to the weather that was handed to us for the whole week, Bark for Life was canceled the morning of the event. Here I sat with all this food, drink and volunteers. I decided I was not ready to turn in for the day. Oak Valley Youth Softball Association (OVYSA) was scheduled at the Oakdale High School all day for pictures. After speaking with Larry Loger and the rest of the OVYSA Board, they were more than happy to help us out. We were allowed to set up outside the gym and sell our concessions and raffle tickets. More than a couple of times they would come out and check on us. I want to thank them for allowing us to do this.

Members of our Relay For Life team were allowed to walk through the gym selling raffle tickets. What a great organization, to allow us to do this without worrying about By Laws or Restrictions, but with the thought that this is for a great cause.

I also want to thank the members of my team that braved the wet and windy weather with me: John Carmelich, Wyatt Dobbins, Tyler Flores, Brandon Davis, Frankie Trent, Shayann Trent, Bella Cobarruvias, Rosebell Hernandez, Jennifer Degraff, Megan DeGraff, Wes Dobbins and most of all my husband, Frank Trent, who always has my back.

Thank you,

Shannon Trent
