Dear Editor,

What a magical time it was at the Fifth Annual Oakdale Christmas Parade! On behalf of Lisa Ballard, Lupe Aguilera and myself, our heartfelt thanks to our entire community and beyond who participated, volunteered and cheered us on as more than 60 parade entries shared the Christmas Joy in our amazing town on Dec. 4.

Thank you to the Oakdale Saddle Club parade unit for their help in honoring Mr. Lloyd Stueve while his granddaughters carried a memorial banner leading the parade. To our service clubs, youth groups, sports teams, the amazing music of the OHS and OJHS Marching bands, Boy Scouts, Girls Scouts, OPD, Public Works, businesses and members of our Oakdale community coming together to celebrate this precious season, we couldn’t do it without you. The lights, the laughter, the music and the awesome sounds of a great parade created memories for us all. All capped off by a special visit from our own Cowboy Santa, aka Ray Leverett. To everyone who gave of their time and talents to make this night happen, we thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

To our Oakdale community, we wish you a very Merry Christmas and we look forward to the New Year. Lots of exciting things happening and make sure to mark your calendars for our Sixth annual Christmas parade, on Saturday, December 3, 2022.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year, Oakdale!
