Our Valley Home MAC committee will be meeting tonight, January 16 at the Valley Home school. The meeting will start at 6:30 p.m. in the school library. These meetings are a wonderful way to keep the line between the residents and the county representatives. There will be reports of what has happened since last meeting, what is scheduled to happen in the near future and also an opportunity to report a problem that may need to be forwarded to the county leaders. Be at the meeting and see what is going on in your part of the county.

Be sure to grab a pencil and mark January 22 on your calendar and plan to attend the meeting of the Lone Tree Bellota Victory Neighbors (LTBVN). Do you think Lone Tree Road is a dangerous road? Are you concerned for your safety and your family’s safety? Would you like to see improvements and make Lone Tree Road safer? The meeting will commence at 9 a.m., at Tiffany Lane and Steinegul Road. We have received word that shelter is available, if poor weather conditions should arise on Tiffany Lane, just north of Lone Tree Road. San Joaquin County Traffic Department will meet with LTBVN. You are asked to please write down your concerns, accidents involved in or witnessed, what changes you would like to see, past contacts with San Joaquin County Traffic, etc. and bring the written document with you, provide copy to San Joaquin County. If you are unable to attend January 22, email and/or call San Joaquin County.
The subject of the danger of the large trucks driving on Lone Tree Road has been discussed in depth by the Valley Home MAC and the county leaders. The leaders have helped the Stanislaus residents all they are able to do without the cooperation of the San Joaquin representatives. A small step has been taken by Stanislaus County in the addition of Valley Home Community signs and School Children signs but nothing more is possible without the cooperation of our county neighbors.

We are saddened to report that two fires occurred on Pioneer Avenue this last week. One was located between Highway 120 and Pleasant Valley Road and the other was between Pleasant Valley Road and Lone Tree Road. These incidents should awaken folks to always be aware of the danger of fires. Our heartfelt sympathy to the two families who suffered damage!
