Hello to each of you; I hope you are each having a very nice day.

Please remember to mark your calendars for Friday, May 10. This is a very important day in Valley Home. It is our Valley Home Community Park fundraiser. We will be serving a delicious spaghetti dinner … drive-thru style. The spaghetti dinner will be from 3 pm to 6 pm. Dinners may be picked up at the Pioneer school campus. Please pick up dinners in the parking lot in front of the Bonnie Gellerman gymnasium. Dinners are $15 each. Dinner flyers with ticket order forms have gone out through the school. For those who do not have children at the school please reach out to any park board member to purchase dinner tickets. Don Taro, Dennis McCutcheon, Bryan Martin, Kathy Shepherd, Amanda Beltrami or myself, Winnie Mullins. Please turn in all orders before Tuesday, May 7th. Thank you all so much. All proceeds will be used for our park well/pump and maintenance at the park. We are in the process of getting bids for the well/pump … we also have met with our County Supervisor Buck Condit. We will be having a park board meeting on Thursday, May 2nd at 4:30 pm. We will be discussing the park bids and well/pump situation. All are welcome to attend.

This week we remember very special moments with a great Valley Home lady. The late Estelle Barnhill left behind so many beautiful memories. Memories that her family and friends will forever cherish. A woman of great strength and tremendous character, Estelle had a very strong faith in God. Her family and dear friends remember her playing the organ at the Lutheran Church in Valley Home. The Lutheran Church is an amazing and very special piece of our Valley Home history. The church is beautiful within itself, but friends and family will tell you that when Estelle’s hands touched the organ keys the sound became golden; a most magnificent sound. It was as if the angels were playing in Valley Home. For those who sang in the choir or attended church services when Estelle played the organ, precious memories were made, memories that would last forever. Many folks will remember that very special sound on Sunday mornings when the church bell would ring; a reminder for folks that it was time to come to Sunday morning services at the Lutheran Church, it was time to hear Estelle play.
