Several local organizations have been included in the latest round of grant awards through the Make Dreams Real initiative, established in 2010 by Carl and Carole Boyett. Make Dreams Real creates opportunities for underserved youth to participate in programs that enrich and stimulate their minds and bodies, and teach values through service learning. Access to these opportunities, offered in partnership with local nonprofits and school districts, can positively impact a community’s school dropout rate, education level, and overall quality of life. The total amount awarded for this year’s grant cycle is $341,805.

“We are incredibly excited to support these remarkable organizations in their efforts to make dreams a reality for school-age children throughout Stanislaus County,” said Dale Boyett, CEO of Boyett Petroleum. “Our family is thrilled to support programs that foster creativity, inspire curiosity, and empower our youth to dream big.”

This year’s recipients include: Bel Passi Baseball, Inc.; Beyer Robotics; Boys & Girls Club of Stanislaus County; Camp Taylor; Carnegie Arts Center; Central West Ballet; City Ministry Network; City of Patterson Recreation and Community Services; Community Hospice & Health Services Foundation; Cricket’s Hope; and First Tee. Also, Gallo Center for the Arts; Girl Scouts Heart of Central California; Gratton Elementary School; Greater Yosemite Council Healthy Alternatives to Violent Environments (HAVEN); Improve Your Tomorrow; Invest In Me; Jack and Buena Foundation; Juline Foundation; Knights Ferry Elementary School District; Modesto Children’s Garden; Modesto Gospel Mission; Modesto Junior College Foundation; Modesto Sound; Modesto Sunrise Rotary; Modesto Symphony Orchestra; Patterson Joint Unified; Riverbank Language Academy; Riverbank Unified School District/Cardozo Middle School; Roberts Ferry School; Salida Middle School; The Salvation Army; Society for Disabilities; Stanislaus Union School District; Sylvan Union School District; Turlock Youth Performing Arts Production Company (TYPA); and United Way of Stanislaus County.

Over the last 14 years, Make Dreams Real has granted more than $2 million to local nonprofits and schools. These grants are made possible by the generosity of the Boyett family, Boyett Petroleum staff and business associates, and members of the community. Boyett Petroleum also hosts an invitational golf tournament every year, with 100 percent of the funds raised added directly to the Make Dreams Real Endowment Fund. This year’s golf tournament will take place at Del Rio on Thursday, May 16.
