Armed with signs asking for a fair contract, employees of Sconza Chocolates were joined by members of Bakers Union Local No. 125 from throughout the region in a peaceful rally hosted at Wood Park along South Yosemite Avenue in Oakdale on Saturday morning, June 27. Some workers also made their way to the Yosemite Avenue/F Street intersection with their signs, drawing attention to their concern over ongoing contract negotiations with the candy company. Among those in attendance was Luis Amaya, secretary-treasurer of Bakers Union Local 135, who said employees have the support of the union as they seek a new contract.
