The Riverbend Ranch Charity Carnival will be held on Saturday, June 15 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at 4500 River Road in Oakdale. The Carnival is a charity fund raiser that the Kjeldgaard family started in 2007 for an orphanage in Libera.
The 2013 charity that the Kjeldgaard family will be hosting this carnival for is the Agape Rescue Home for Street Girls which opened in September 2012 in Kenya. The proceeds that are received will go to The Agape charity dollar for dollar. The carnival fundraiser will help the only home exclusively serving the street girls of Kisumu, Kenya.
The Riverbend Ranch Charity Carnival is the family project of Eric and Lisa Kjeldgaard family. Since 2007 they were looking for a practical way to help those in need. Eric and Lisa came up with the idea of the carnival to raise funds for orphans and widows around the world.
Since 2007 they have raised money to help widows, orphans, organizations in Africa, Ethiopia, and Kenya.
Aside from raising money for the charities they would like to also create a day of old fashioned fun. There will be over twenty family fun carnival games to play that will only cost about 25 cents. The youngsters will win tickets that can be redeemed for prizes. They will have several activities like face painting, crafts, game booths, water slide, dunk tank, live music, and much more.
“We are thrilled to play a small role in helping rescue street girls this year, we need you to come out and support or purchase raffle tickets,” exclaimed Kate Kjeldgaard.
