Oakdale will play host to the 2013 Symbiosis Gathering at Woodward Reservoir Regional Park from Thursday, Sept. 19 through Monday, Sept. 23. Organizers of the event say Symbiosis Gathering could draw upwards of 10,000 event goers to the region.

The gathering will bring five days of an “alternate reality” teeming with eclectic musical performances (live bands, global and galactic bass, house, gypsy and sacred), cutting edge entertainment (including the first ever Edwardian Ball Roadshow), transformational workshops, a diverse array of yoga and dance classes, world-renowned visual arts and large-scale art installations, ancient wisdom teachings, and gourmet organic food, while experiencing green living in action, celebrating the Full Moon Autumnal Equinox and the International Day of Peace.

All that, according to a press release regarding the event due to arrive soon outside the city limits.

The multi-dimensional event hosts over 200 cutting edge musical acts from around the world, including the much anticipated US debut of Iamamiwhoami, as well as performances by Sound Tribe Sector 9, Poliça, Mount Kimbie, Hudson Mohawke, Emancipator, Active Child, RL Grime, Lunice, Popof, Brodinski, Star Slinger, Chet Faker, Vau de Vire Society and many more.

The Symbiosis Gathering, organizers said, intends to facilitate peak experiences through a synaesthesia of art, music, transformational learning, and sustainable living integrated into an unparalleled extravaganza of fun beneath the starry skies.

Symbiosis Gathering was founded on strong principles of environmental consciousness and ecological sustainability and each event has continued to advance this vision through the implementation of both time-tested and innovative eco-action initiatives.
