Subdivision Landscaping Tasks Taken On By City
Oakdale Plaque

The City of Oakdale will assume landscape maintenance responsibilities in the Bridle Ridge and Vineyard subdivisions starting Monday, April, 30. City staff will be on site in both communities performing maintenance duties five days per week (excluding city holidays).

The maintenance contracts for Bridle Ridge and Vineyards subdivisions expired on Nov. 4, 2017. The City requested proposals for a new maintenance contract and received multiple bidders. The bids received were 50 percent to 162 percent higher than the previous contracts, officials said.

Low bid amounts for Bridle Ridge and The Vineyards totaled approximately $518,000. City staff labor costs are estimated to be in the area of $340,000 for an estimated labor savings of $178,000 per year.

As a result, Oakdale City Council members recently approved the hiring of six full-time employees in the Parks Department to take over the landscaping duties in the Bridle Ridge and Vineyards subdivisions.
