The Stockton Ports are hosting a special American Cancer Society Night at their Banner Island Ballpark on Saturday, Aug. 13.

Game time is 7:10 p.m. against the High Desert Mavericks and local ACS Relay For Life volunteer and cancer survivor Sandra Whiteman is scheduled to throw out the first pitch.

Those attending are also asked to bring in items to donate for the ACS Discovery Shop, ranging from small household items to scarves, shoes, clothing, jewelry accessories, books, hats and CDs. Those donating an item will receive one free voucher for a future Ports game.

Special activities are planned throughout the game and the evening is designed to draw attention to and support the programs and services of the American Cancer Society.
