Rec Commission Seeking Input On Name For Park

On Aug. 29, the City of Oakdale Parks and Recreation Commission met to begin the process of selecting a name for the new community park that will be constructed on South Yosemite Avenue.

At the meeting, a member of the public presented the idea of naming the park after Bushwacker, the world champion bull that calls Oakdale “home.” After some discussion, “Bushwacker Corral” was introduced as a possible name for the park.

The Commission will meet again on Tuesday, Sept. 13 at 5 p.m. in the City Council Chambers at 277 N. Second Ave. and invites the public to present their ideas for the park name at this meeting.

The city is inviting interested residents to attend the Sept. 13 Parks and Recreation committee meeting to share their ideas.
