Answering the call to donate as the American Red Cross recently declared an emergency blood shortage, Vern Gladney of Oakdale was among those who turned out for a Thursday, Aug. 13 blood drive. It was hosted at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on East A Street in Oakdale and saw a steady stream of donors throughout the event. The next Red Cross drive at the church is on the schedule for Nov. 12.
