Oak Valley Hospital reported vandalism of two AT&T junction boxes that disrupted telephone service to the main hospital, Oak Valley Care Center, Oak Valley Community Health Center and surrounding physician offices. AT&T is currently working to restore phone, fax and internet services.

“We continue to be committed to the community we serve and the quality of care we provide,” said OVH CEO John McCormick. “

A hospital spokesperson said that during the interruption of the telephone and internet services those wishing to contact the hospital may call (209) 602-2578 and their call will be directed to the appropriate service area.

“This is a serious thing that could have endangered lives,” said Robert Shatswell of Oak Valley Hospital. “The hospital is anxious to help the community understand that this situation is being addressed and their services are committed.”

Hospital officials did not have an anticipated time for the restoration of service, but did not anticipate a long delay.
