Octobers Library Schedule Packed With Multiple Events

A jam packed schedule of events has been prepared for the Oakdale library during October.

Children can take part in a seasonal craft on Thursday, Oct. 6 at 3:30 p.m. Each child can make a spider web using popsicle sticks and yarn. The finished spider web will be topped with a plastic spider. Children can also make lollipop ghosts out of lollipops and tissues. Children under the age of 4 are welcome to participate, however they must have direct parental supervision at all times.

LEGO Days will be held on Fridays at 3 p.m. Finished LEGO creations will be displayed at the library. Children under the age of 4 are welcome to participate, however they must have direct parental supervision at all times.

Computer Basics class is planned on Tuesday, Oct. 11 at 10:30 a.m. and Thursdays, Oct. 6 and 13 at 6 p.m. In addition to Computer Basics, Internet Basics classes will be offered on Tuesday, Oct. 18 at 10:30 a.m. and Thursday, Oct. 20 at 6 p.m. Advance registration is required for all computer classes; please contact the Oakdale Library at (209) 847-4204 to sign up.

Toddlers and preschoolers can enjoy “Wee Move and Play” on Monday, Oct. 10 and 24 at 11 a.m. This program features an hour of music, movement, and sensory play.

Teens and adults can make miniature tile chalkboards on Wednesday, Oct. 12 at 3:30 p.m. Completed chalkboards can be decorated with glass gems and Sharpies. All materials will be provided. This program is recommended for ages 12 and up.

The Oakdale Library Book Club will meet on Tuesday, Oct. 25 at 11:30 a.m. to discuss Reading Lolita in Tehran by Azar Nafisi. Book clubs allow community members to expand their knowledge of books through meaningful discussions with others.

“Python Ron” McGee will bring some of his lizards and snakes to the library on Wednesday, Oct. 26 at 4 p.m. This educational, hands-on show-and-tell is open to all ages.
