Oakdale Sunrise Rotary Prepares For Lobsterfest
Rotary

Mark the calendar; the Oakdale Sunrise Rotary is preparing to deliver another Lobsterfest on Saturday, Aug. 10. The event will feature filet mignon steak, large lobster tails, all the side dishes and trimmings, unlimited drinks, and lots of action, to include both silent and live auction items, music, and more. This is the Sunrise Rotary’s biggest fundraiser of the year, and most of the proceeds go right back into the community.

Tickets are now on sale for the Lobsterfest, which will be held at the Gene Bianchi Community Center, 110 S. Second Ave., from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. You can purchase tickets at the Oakdale Visitors Center (209) 345-9264 or Steves Chevrolet (209) 847-2261. Those who wish can get a group of eight people together and purchase a table, saving $30 in ticket costs.

“Our Rotary group has always taken pride in placing an emphasis on supporting Oakdale schools and community programs,” said former Treasurer, Patrick Mondragon. “We were thrilled to present the Oakdale High School Sober Grad Night Committee with a $1,000 check to support their program.”

Current President John Machado said that they proudly support and fund the Drive to Survive program, held at Oakdale High School during the summer months. Having just completed a recent Drive to Survive class a few weeks ago, more than 30 students received this valuable training, which prepares them for their Permit Test and teaches them critical safety items needed for being a safe and effective driver.

“It’s going to be another fantastic event and you definitely don’t want to miss out,” Mondragon added of the Aug. 10 Lobsterfest.
