The Corral has long been home to the Oakdale High School football team; a squad with a rich history of success. For the past 11 seasons, the Mustangs have spent Friday nights defending their (artificial) home turf against Valley Oak League foes and have even started on the path to League, Section and State titles on that field.

On Thursday, June 1 Valley Precision Grading, Inc. broke ground on replacing the turf to make way for new artificial turf that will ‘freshen up’ the playing field for the new season.

This process will take approximately four weeks to complete, said officials. Due to construction, the annual AAU track and field event normally hosted at Oakdale will instead be held at Riverbank High School, beginning June 14.
