Oakdale FFA Members Continue To Shine

Oakdale High School Future Farmers of America was acknowledged for its past few months of accomplishments by the Oakdale Joint Unified School Board on Monday night.

The students started off the summer with an impressive win as the Livestock Judging Team was awarded state champions in May. They are currently working towards the National competition to be hosted in Indiana this October.

 

Notable honors include:

2016 John Thurman Award Winner - Outstanding FFA Chapter; Overall Livestock Chapter Award for the second consecutive year; Ag Mechanics Sweepstakes Award, beating Turlock High’s 24 straight year run.

 

Livestock Results:

Meat Goats: Supreme Grand Champion and Reserve Supreme Grand Champion; FFA Grand and Reserve Champion; Champion and Reserve Champion Heavy Weights; First Place Chapter Group; First, Second, Third and Fifth in Advanced Showmanship; First in Intermediate Showmanship; First in True Novice Showmanship; Second place Chapter Clean Barn Award.

 

Dairy Goats:

Senior Champion Female; First Place Advanced Showmanship.

 

Sheep:

Champion FFA Light Weight Lamb; Champion FFA Middle Weight Lamb; Second Place Chapter Group; First Place Advanced Market Lamb Showmanship; Second Place Intermediate Market Lamb Showmanship; Outstanding Sheep Exhibitor, Madison Morgan; Third place Chapter Clean Barn Award.
