A brief 25-minute meeting of the Oak Valley Hospital Board of Directors on Wednesday, July 25 efficiently highlighted several factors contributing to the medical facility’s success for this year.
Hospital CEO John McCormick presented the hospital’s financial report with a $463,000 profit and $2.1 million in revenues to date for the fiscal year. McCormick added that June 2012 was the biggest operating margin in the last four years with a 4 percent increase in the emergency department and 8 percent increase in the clinics. Over 500 outpatient surgeries were also performed in June.
The board reported that more than 1000 persons attended the new hospital’s pre-opening event on Tuesday, July 24 with 850 persons attending the evening festivities and tour and 350 making the visit to the new facility that morning.
McCormick said the new hospital is in its last phase of construction with an emergency room entrance from the parking lot in-process and awaiting construction for awnings and the courtyard.
The district is waiting on the state to conduct its final licensing of the new facility in August for it to open.
The hospital will be starting a marketing promotion that will include a rotating advertisement and redesign of its web site.
Oak Valley’s billboard on West F Street in Oakdale will also change every month to promote the hospital.
