Home Wine Making Class Featured
Delicato 1

Potential home viticulturalists could be in for a treat as Delicato Vineyards will once again be holding its Home Wine Making Workshop on Saturday Aug. 27 and Sept. 3 for those just beginning or those wanting to hone their skills.

According to journeyman home wine maker and Delicato Vineyard Tasting Manager Richard Foote, home winemaking is a fascinating, creative and enjoyable hobby - and one that has very few limits.

“I call the course, ‘Winemaking 101A,’” said Foote who has been at the craft for about 23 years. “The class is designed for those who want to start winemaking as a hobby or who have tried in that past and failed.”

People who have been in the activity for while also enjoy attending to pick up new ideas and discuss the craft with others that are interested, said Foote.

The class lasts about two hours and will cover the methods, equipment, fermentation process, and bottling of a home vintage suitable for consumption.
