High Speed Chase Results In Arrests
Patch

An early morning call on Monday, July 3 had Oakdale police officers in pursuit of two motorcyclists, eventually arresting both subjects.

The call came in just after 1:35 a.m., officials said, when officers were dispatched to the area of Maag Avenue and Sierra Road regarding the sounds of motorcycles racing. Responding officers located two motorcycles racing in the area. When officers attempted to stop the motorcycles, the motorcyclists evaded police at a high rate of speed. Both motorcycles then collided with a fence near the intersection of Sierra Road and Fifth Avenue. One of the motorcycles had previously been reported stolen out of Oakdale.

Police said following the crash, Adam Hector, 37, and Benjamin Marquez, 35, both of Oakdale were located at the scene of the collision. Marquez, who is on parole, and Hector were both arrested for felony evading a police officer causing injury, illegal speed contest, and driving with a suspended license. In addition, Marquez was also arrested for possession of burglary tools and receiving stolen property. Both suspects sustained significant injuries and were transported for treatment at a local area hospital.
