Focus On…, a newly formed non-profit organization, is presenting a Cuban themed fundraiser, called “The Romance of Old Havana” on Saturday, July 27 from 6p.m. to 11p.m. to benefit arts programs in Stanislaus schools through the Boys and Girls Club Of Stanislaus County and the C.L.A.S.S. program through the Central California Art Association (CCAA)

This entertaining evening of all things Cuban centers around the photography of Jon Sousa and David Schroeder’s trip to Cuba in 2012. Sousa and Schroeder returned with special photos of the life and times, the resurrection and decay of Old Havana. Upon their return, they joined with John Griswold, a local, concert and event producer, to create what they call “the event of the season.”

The evening will feature live Cuban music, a Cuban dance company’s floor show, Cuban “street food,” three mojito bars, a silent auction, and salsa dancing.

This event will be held at the Martin G. Peterson Event Center at 720 12th St., downtown Modesto. Tickets can be purchased on the website www.havanafocus.org or at Intrinsic Elements at 1214 J St. or the Mistlin Gallery at 925 J St., both in Modesto.
