Changes are coming to the annual Oakdale Rodeo Parade this year, with an expanded line up of participants anticipated.

The annual parade is on the second Saturday in April each year, helping kick off rodeo weekend. This year, the parade will be on Saturday, April 8 and entries are now being sought for the event.

“The parade is now a California State Horsemen sanctioned event,” said Lisa Vandermeer of the Oakdale Saddle Club. “We will have some very exciting mounted groups and individuals because they are competing for year end points.”

The parade starts at 10 a.m. on April 8 and winds its way along F Street through much of the community. It is hosted by the Oakdale Saddle Club. Local organizations, schools, businesses, and residents participate in this event and Saddle Club officials said the changes this year should make it a better experience for all involved.

Deadline for entries is fast approaching; deadline is Saturday, March 11 and entry forms can be found on the Oakdale Rodeo website or at the Oakdale Chamber of Commerce.
