Early April Programs Scheduled At Library
oakdale library

The first week of April will have fun and compelling programs for reflection and amazement.

Library officials invite local veterans, and all in the community, to a Book Reading and Discussion: Home To The Brave, offered as part of California Center for the Book, “Community Conversations with Veterans.” Author Jeff Jardine will discuss his book, a collection of columns he wrote during 14 years as The Modesto Bee metro columnist. They include personal and moving accounts of what veterans faced in wars ranging from World War II to Afghanistan, along with stories told about what it was like to be on the home front during these historic times. The program is scheduled for Thursday, April 4, at 10 a.m.

Learn and share memories and events that touched us all and changed us forever.

Then, in the afternoon, bring the whole family for ‘Magic! Illusions! Laughs!’ with Magician Shawn Durham. The Oakdale Library will host this “spellbinding” presentation on Thursday, April 4, at 3 p.m.

Durham encourages reading and amazes audiences with his upbeat, mind-boggling, brain twisting magic. This program is perfect for all ages from preschool and up.
