Stanislaus County Clerk Recorder and Registrar of Voters, Lee Lundrigan, has been advised by the Office of the California Secretary of State that State Controller third place candidate John Perez has requested a partial recount in the primary race election for California State Controller. The November General Gubernatorial Election ballot will list only the top two primary race candidates receiving the most votes in the June 3 Primary Election. The State Controller race has a clear first place candidate for the November ballot, yet the third place candidate is separated from the second place by only 481 votes.

On Sunday, the third place candidate asked the California Secretary of State for a recount involving 15 of California’s 58 counties. Lundrigan was verbally advised by the office of the Secretary of State that this is the first time a recount will be conducted in a California statewide race. Stanislaus is number 10 on the list of recount counties, which are listed below.

Further contact from the Office of the Secretary of State and an official notice to the counties included in the anticipated recount will be received by the Stanislaus Registrar of Voters this week.

Below are the order of the counties the third place candidate has requested be recounted.
