The temperatures were a bit chilly, but the warmth in Valley Home was spread throughout the community on Saturday night.

It was the annual Valley Home Community Christmas Parade, with a handful of brightly lighted floats, tractors, ATVs, kids on scooters and kids pulling dogs in wagons, riders on horseback, the Stanislaus Consolidated Fire Department and more taking part.

Grand Marshal for the event this year was Winnie Mullins, who also thanked the firefighters for participating, making their way from the Knights Ferry station to line up for the parade.

Scheduled at 5:30 p.m., the parade went three laps around a few block area, then the crowd gathered for some Christmas carols and lighting of the community Christmas tree. Finally, it was off to the gymnasium at the school to share a hot, holiday meal and some community camaraderie.
