A decision whether or not to draft an ordinance against drinking in parks and several employment related items top the agenda for the Monday night, April 2 Oakdale City Council meeting.

Council members were due to meet prior to the regular meeting, in closed session, to discuss public employment for the City Manager, Community Development and Services Director and City Attorney, as well as receive an update on negotiations with bargaining groups.

Among proclamations and presentations, Lloyd Kjos is slated to be on hand with information about April being ‘Donate Life’ month and staff reports in the regular meeting are also to include a proposal from interim Police Chief Lester Jenkins. His report is to touch on the problem of drinking in Oakdale city parks and council is expected to discuss whether or not to consider drafting an ordinance to ban the practice.

In other items, council members may hear of a skatepark grant that could be coming to the city.

Look for a follow up on the meeting in the April 4 issue of The Leader.
